what kind of careers are good for a person who wants to work on line from their home?

I was thinking how great it would be if I didn’t have to
get up and go to work, how I could just work at my
computer from home and make money…. Now the
question is how? You see I went to college to get a
degree that requires me to work outside of my home.
My question is what profession would work if a person
wanted to stay home and work from their computer?

Being a travel agent is a great profession for working from home. I am one now and absolutely love it. It’s only within the last few years that it’s been possible to get credentials as a home based travel agents (not just a referral travel agent which is what you are with companies that are home based travel companies for the last 15 years). I set my own hours and only take on as many clients as I want. I’ve been able to build great relationships with suppliers so a lot of the times I get exclusive rates that can’t be found anywhere else, which really helps business. Another great perk is that I get to travel wherever and whenever I want (my hubby loves this perk too!) I always get at least 60% all my travel so we take a lot of vacations.

So, being a travel agent is definately a great profession for someone who wants to work from home. All you need is a phone and computer with internet! A fax machine is also nice, but not necessary (I don’t have one). It doesn’t take long to get up and going, I go my first check about a week after deciding to get started. It took half a day for my training and then that week I booked some last minute tickets for my in-laws and got paid! Now that I’ve built up a book of business I get a lot of repeat customers who use me to book all their travel. It’s a lot of fun and it’s the first time that I have really loved what I’m doing and loved the size of the paycheck.

I hope you find something that works out for you! Don’t get discouraged. I have been working from home since I was 18 and have made a 6 figure income every year, so it is possible. I’ve done a lot of different things, but being a travel agent is definately the most relaxing, stress free work I’ve done and the average person can do it (the work I did before required specialized skill sets and investing to make any decent money).
